MRI Cisternography With Contrast

  • Also Known As

It is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses a strong magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to create detailed images of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). A contrast agent is injected intravenously for better visualization of the CSF flow. Your doctor may recommend this test to evaluate problems with the flow of the CSF such as CSF rhinorrhea (abnormal contact between the nasal cavity and arachnoid space of sinus) and CSF leakage into nose or ear due to brain surgery or trauma.
