MRI Angiography

  • Also Known As

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) angiography is a non-invasive imaging test that uses a strong magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to create detailed images of the blood vessels and blood flow inside the body. The procedure may use a contrast dye for better visualization of coronary arteries. Your doctor may advise this test to evaluate conditions such as aneurysms (a bulge in the blood vessel wall), blockages in the arteries, blood clots, stroke, carotid artery disease, atherosclerosis of the arms or legs, heart disease, mesenteric artery ischemia, renal artery stenosis and other blood vessel problems.
