Bone Scan (Whole Body) (99m Tc - MDP)

    It is a nuclear medicine test that combines bone scan and SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography) to detect areas of abnormal bone growth due to fractures, tumors, and other bone diseases. A radioactive tracer is injected intravenously and a gamma camera detects gamma radiation to create a planar image of the bones.
