ESR Test - Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate

An ESR is a blood test that determines if one has a condition that causes inflammation. An erythrocyte sedimentation rate measures how fast the red blood cells settle down in a test tube containing a blood sample. If the settling rate is faster than normal, it may indicate inflammation in the body.
