Echocardiography Test (Echocardiogram)

Cardiac screening includes a range of tests to assess your cardiovascular health and risk factors.

The tests that are performed during cardiac screening include Electrocardiogram (ECG), Echocardiogram, Cardiac MRI, blood pressure, blood cholesterol, and measuring body weight/BMI. Each of these tests helps to detect various risk factors or signs of a heart disease.

Cardiac screening is particularly important for people who have any risk factors for a heart disease. Some of them include: being overweight, smoking, drinking, a family history of heart disease, a sedentary lifestyle, or having a condition such as high blood pressure. It is also important if you have symptoms such as chest pain, breath shortness, or experience dizziness or fainting spells.

It becomes crucial for men aged 40 years and above, and women aged 50 years and above, to be screened regularly. Based on your medical history, you should ask your doctor how often should you go for regular heart screenings.
