CT SI Joints

  • Also Known As

A computed tomography (CT) scan is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses a rotating beam of X-rays to create cross-sectional images of the sacroiliac joint, also called the SI joint. SI joint refers to the joint connection between the spine and the pelvis. Buried deep inside the pelvis, it is one of the largest joints in the body. Dysfunction in the SI joint can cause lower back and/or leg pain, which feels dull, aching, and can range from mild to severe.
