Color Doppler Portal Vein

A color doppler is an ultrasound that uses a computer to change sound waves into colors. These colors then show the speed and direction of blood flow in real-time. A color doppler portal vein is used to identify portal vein thrombosis, which is caused due to portal hypertension and sluggish flow through the fibrotic liver.
