CE CT TM Joints

Your doctor may advise a contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CE CT) scan of the temporomandibular (TM) joint, to detect jawbone fractures and assess jaw movement or jaw dislocation. TM joint is located between the skull’s temporal bones and the jaws. A contrast agent is used to accentuate the bones, joints, and underlying disorders. The scan is helpful in finding out chronic pain in the jaw, ear, or mouth.
